when curiosity almost killed a cat

I've skipped writing for a while. There's nothing interesting anyway, but something weird happened this past weekend. Saturday, Tohru and Yuki left to prepare something at school. Tohru's involved in the home-ec club and they're putting extra effort on their club booth. The rat's in the student committee and so they asked him to come to school today for some planning. That's why I prefer my laid back life like this. I don't get bothered. However, I do get bothered by Shigure.

"Kyo, will you prepare lunch today?"

"Huh?!"

"It's just for two people, so don't worry. It's easy. Be a gent and cook for us will ya? Thanks."

"HELL N--" then he shut his door. "SHIGURE! HEY! I'M NOT GOING OUTSIDE! THEY SAID IT'S GOING TO RAIN!" then I saw an umbrella conveniently placed beside the front door.

Still I wasn't going to move. But when my belly grumbled... I had no choice. Tohru didn't prep something, and so... there's no choice but to cook. What a wrong time to be lazy.

I went to the kitchen and opened the fridge. I found out that there was nothing in there. I thought that it wasn't funny. There was only an apple, a bottle of milk, cabbage and I found ice cubes on the freezer. What the hell? How are we going to survive like this? Shigure doesn't even replenish anything?

"SHIGURE! THERE'S NOTHING IN HERE!" I yelled.

"Oh dear." yet he managed to smile.

"Don't 'oh dear' me. Why don't we just order out?"

"Eh? We just ordered out recently! Besides it's cheaper if you buy the ingredients on the market. It's just for two people. Here, go to the grocery and be careful."

"WHAT?! I'M NOT GOING TO THE MARK--" he shut his door again.

I didn't want to starve and so there was no choice but to set out and buy food. Damn it, Shigure. Just admit that you want to eat my cooking. What a sorry excuse for a man; couldn't even feed himself. I pity the fool.

"Arigato gozaimasu." it wasn't hard buying the ingredients. And now onto cooking it. I figured I just prep a pork and beef with soup, cabbage, potatoes, petchay, with a flavor cube. Plus rice. But I think I bought too much ingredient. Well, the fridge does need restocking.

When I was walking on the street, the skies were turning gray. I better hurry.

"OWIE!"

"Hm? Kagura?"

"Ow. My nose. K- Kyo?"

CRAP! How'd she? What the? How did she get here? I bumped onto Kagura when she exit the pharmacy.

"What the hell are you doing here?"

"Nothing! What are you doing here, Kyo?"

"I just passed by the grocery store. Tohru and Yuki are running errands. Shigure said I should cook... Even though I insist that we just order out. But no. cheap and lazy bastard..." after explaining, the best option I came up with is to bail out. Nothing good happens when I deal with her. "anyway, I'm heading back. So... see ya!"

"WAIT!"

"Er? What?" DAMN! I stopped on instinct!

"I'm- there's nothing to do at home. Let me come with you." I grumbled because I know her nature. I mean, she's gonna flip out if I say no and she knows my house, so what's the point in refusing?! She'll practically race me there!

"What's the point of saying no? You know where I'm going so there's no point stopping you, is there?"

"YEY!" so she tagged along.

I was seriously getting hungry. I needed to pick up the pace. I thought that it would take time to cook and that would make me more hungry. But I noticed that Kagura barely could keep up! I couldn't afford to wait up for her! Why's she taking so long? I wonder if she couldn't read my pace. I'm so hungry, I want to drag her to the house!

"What? You can't keep up? Do you want me to hold your hands?"

"No- I'm fine."

At the intersection, the pedestrian light turned red. I looked up and the sky was getting darker. I don't want to get wet with the food. And I slapped my forehead because that's when I just realized I forgot the umbrella. When the pedestrian light turned green:

"Hora! Hayaku!... oh. Crap. Did I just-- Nevermind. Let's go, Kagura-nee." upon instinct, I offered my hand to her again. But-- but... no way. I didn't just volunteer to hold hands with her. Gross. My instinct's killing me. When I looked at her, she was puzzled.

"Huh?"

"Nothing. Let's just hurry." but I noticed one more thing about her. Is it just me or is she hiding something in her sweater? I noticed ever since we met at the pharmacy, she tucked her hands inside the pocket of her sweater. I think she is hiding something.

I wanted to ask.

"You know, I've been thinking... Are you hiding something? I get this feeling that you're hiding something."

"Hiding what?"

"Your hands. You're hiding something with your hands. It's not that I'm curious, it's pissing me off like... you don't care at all or you look bored while walking like that... hiding your hands or something in that sweater..."

"What about my hands?"

"Mou. Nevermind."

When we're almost homestretch, she still kept her hands inside. She wasn't showing anything. I thought that maybe there's chocolate inside. Wow, Kyo. Chocolate from a pharmacy? Well... it could happen. The pharmacy nearby is almost like a convenience store. She could help me with the grocery, that way I could shut myself up from this curiosity. It's my weakness after all.

"I'm sorry, but can you carry this for me? My fingers are killing me." I was handing the bag to her.

"... iiyada."

"I said just hold it for me just a bit!"

"Can't you put it down while you rest your fingers? And besides, it's just a couple of meters from the house. Bear with it."

"Don't argue! Just hold it for a while! Help me carry the grocery!"

"Ah! A gentleman wouldn't do that!" this is getting ridiculous.

"I'm not a gentleman! Just hold it Kagura!"

"Catch me first!" then she ran away.

"WHAT THE HELL?!" so she IS hiding something!

I rested for a minute and went on my way home. When I opened the door, Kagura was already watching the TV. How can she be so fast?! BUT... she was still keeping her hands inside her pocket! Good grief! Talk about weird.

I didn't want to argue because I was getting tired and hungry. I went straight to cooking a meal for three... which should just be for two... better if it could've been just for me. Anyway, I made it quick and simple and it took about half-an hour to finish it.

"Lunch's ready." I yelled again.

"I'll be right there in a minute." Shigure yelled back in the hall.

"Kagura, lunch is ready."

"Ok..." she walked over to the table. And boy, I surprised her. "Uhm... are you sure you're not hiding Tohru somewhere?"

"What? I don't care anymore, idiot. Just eat." heh, keep your doubt to yourself, Kagura. You just don't know that I'm a natural cook.

"Ittadakimasu!"

Then I've seen the silliest scene. She was eating without using her hands. She was picking the food with her mouth and stuff-- it was-- very weird, disturbing, and funny.

"... you know. It's easier if you use your hands... rather than eating like a dog." then again, she's a wild boar.

"Then spoon feed me." WHAT?! There was a vein throbbing on my forehead.

"WHAT THE-- ARE YOU EIGHT? SO YOU ARE HIDING SOMETHING, HUH?"

"No. Spoon feed me, Kyo. Pretty please?"

"I cooked this up for you already and you want to be spoon fed?! You, lady, are crazy."

"I want to be spoon fed by Kyo." OVER MY DEAD BODY!

"Use your hands! No no... those puppy eyes won't work."

"Tch."

"Don't Tch me, woman! You have two hands! The left and the right! Put them on the table before we fight!"

"I don't wanna." THAT'S IT! THE HANDS ARE COMING OUT!

"Let me see them!"

"NO!"

I grabbed her arms and pulled her hands off her pocket. There was no chocolate. Sigh.

"Nani? I thought you were keeping a chocolate in there. But a moisturizer, huh? Why?"

"It's for my hands." For her hands?

"What's wrong with them-- yikes."

She had a skin rash on her hands. It wasn't all that bad, but I guess anyone would be concerned. And then that's when a thought hit me: Was she hiding her hands from me?

"If you're thinking of hiding your hands from me just because of a stupid rash, I don't see why you have to bother. I don't care how your hands look like. They're fine. So eat up." The truth is, I didn't really care. So... whatever. "W- what're you doing? Stop that. Stop blushing!" Why do I get the feeling she misunderstood something?

"Iiyada... I didn't know Kyo would be so bold to forcefully grab both my hands."

"EWW!" I'M INFECTED!!

"OW! You didn't have to throw them away that hard!"

"THOSE RASH BETTER NOT BE CONTAGIOUS!"

And in the end, Shigure said that it's unhealthy to get your hands wet after writing and typing for hours and Kagura said that water and soap would make her hands dry. Soooo... I had no choice but to wash the dishes afterwards.

Kyo is the cat or outcast of the zodiac. Whenever he embraces a person of the opposite gender, he transforms into a cat. Kyo is really sensitive, so it is easy to get him pissed off. Whenever he loses his temper, he says mean things without thinking about what he's saying.

Kyo is also really competitive with Yuki. He will get in a fist fight or argument, but Yuki always beats him or has a comeback. He even has to live with Yuki.

Both of them have a crush on their housekeeper, Tohru, which leads to a lot of problems in their house.
